About Us

The decision to draw inspiration from the name and legacy of Yitzhak Rabin is not merely a tribute to the great politician and leader of the Israeli and global left. The bullets that cut short Rabin’s life were also fired at a project of peace and coexistence that would undoubtedly have altered the paths that have led us to where we are today—to the massacre of October 7 and the conflict in Gaza. Thus, Rabin represents a choice for radical change and dialogue, a cultural space and a political aspiration.

What We Do

In our first year of activity, 2024–2025, we organized meetings, initiatives, and lectures aimed at a broader audience. With this in mind, the “Yitzhak Rabin” Laboratory seeks to engage first and foremost with the academic and higher education communities, with labor unions and civil society organizations, with actors on the political and social left, and with other political and cultural spheres.

In 2026, we launched our activities by continuing to collaborate with other cultural institutions, presenting a series of events on figures and themes designed to examine the present without prejudice but by fostering discussion and dialogue, in line with our organizational goals.

Looking ahead, the Rabin Laboratory aims to become a hub for cultural development and the production of content applicable across diverse contexts and on the platforms deemed most suitable at any given time. We will explore initiatives built around the “Israel-Judaism-democratic cultures” framework , capable of engaging in the public cultural debate and providing the Italian public at large with the tools and arguments needed to form informed opinions and convictions about Israel’s past, present, and future, while simultaneously strengthening the relationship between the left and Italian Jewish communities.

Where We Want to Go

We believe that knowledge and the transmission of knowledge are fundamental vehicles for building an open political space and for producing content at various levels, from the academic to the popular and communicative.

For this reason, the “Yitzhak Rabin” Laboratory serves as a point of reference for anyone wishing to explore the complex dynamics related to Israel, Jewish identity, and the conflicts in the Middle East through a critical and scientific approach. With the ambition of providing pathways, ideas, and words for those who wish to engage in the contemporary debate with the proper awareness, we propose a democratic, progressive perspective that is committed to peace and coexistence.

The Cultural Association

Since November 2025, the Rabin Laboratory has been an independent cultural association, established by notarial deed, which is nonprofit and nonpartisan. Its governing bodies are the President, the Board of Directors, the Scientific Committee, the Treasurer, and the General Assembly. Anyone who supports its mission may join.
